You do not know how happy I am seeing your video. I have seen internet articles about your conversion and I am glad someone decided to do a RWD conversion on the celica. The celica does not have a lot of audience for modification, tuners, and an aftermarket so this video really gets me happy for the celica community. Thank you for explaining how you did this conversion so more people can think of trying this.

I own a Celica, and this is a dream above a dream to have. Love the Celica's so much. It handles so very well and it always feels like an adventure on the road. But I can barely drift with it because of the stock FWD.
It's so clean, it even has the ac. Most rwd conversions don't even have the interior. Didn't knew that the IS200 was sold in japan, i thought it was only sold as the Altezza.
Meanwhile it takes me 2 seconds to convert my celica in Forza to RWD. --Nah, but I love when people convert non-RWD cars to RWD. It's the best!!! Great job!

Thank you. Mounts are made on the left and right of the bell housing part of the gearbox (the same position as normal) in addition to the front and back. Stabilizer is not attached to the front and back. That's fun!

How the Celica wanted to be from the factory. Very nice. I have a plan for doing something similar except with a LS 5.3L, a tremic tkx, and 4 link 9in out back so, imagine this but with over twice the power and almost 3 times the torque. I'm looking more at a fast street car and occasionally drag racing. And maybe to troll the import guys a little.
I use a J160 manual transmission. The shifter is in its original position. The position of the engine was determined due to the position of the steering gearbox.
Although i question the safety and integrity of parts of this build, i love the concept. You have my support.

車検を無視すればすごく簡単です。要所要所を抑えれば公認は可能ですね！
I love it! I've always loved the look of these Celicas and it's a shame there was no All-Trac AWD version. RWD is even better though!

There is the celica gt-four, and that’s awd. But those are incredibly pricey nowadays.

I only had FWD, so I converted it to RWD.
Could you have mounted the engine further forward if a auto transmission was used? So the shifter location want a concern.

Im suprised this passed any sort of safety inspection. The rear subframe mount welds and driveshaft weld did it for me. Just not safe.
